Charlie Ebersol, who already has a good relationship with the NFL through his NFL Characters Unite series on USA Network, is about ready to do the same with the NBA. He has been brought on to the produce the picture through his production company, The Company, from a script by his brother Willie Ebersol.
I grew up with Space Jam (and the Space Jam soundtrack, which needs a similarly star-studded follow-up) and regard this as pretty cool news. The question now is whether the plot will be similar -- NBA players losing their talents to conniving aliens -- and if so, which players make sense as the victims. Giannis Antetokounmpo. I want Giannis in there. That's all I ask.
